DORA KLINOVA, AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR, ABOUT HERSELF
Dora Klinova was born and raised in Odessa. About 30 years ago, she immigrated to the United States.
Here's what she wrote about herself in her book "The Melody of an Immigrant's Soul":
"I was a foreigner and looked at many things with different eyes. Excited and impressed, I began to write down my thoughts. On paper, they turned into essays, stories, poems, etc.
Surprisingly, they came out of me in English, not Russian. Sometimes, I didn't know the meaning of the English words written on the paper, but they were correct and on point. Why and how this happened is a mystery and wonder to me. Was it from God?
Before emigrating, I lived in the beautiful city of Odessa on the Black Sea, worked as a design engineer in the movie industry, and had never written anything before, not even in my wildest and most fantastic dream. I never imagined that I would become an American writer."
